I had such a great ride today! I figured Topper has had a full week to settle into his new home and he has been eager to try and come out of his paddock. I figured it was time for tacking him up and taking him for a short ride. He seemed happy to get tacked up and was even happier when I lead him on out of his paddock.
I took him over to the round pen and free lunged him just to see if he had any pops and bucks he'd like to get out first. Nope, nothing from him.
I took him to the ring and hopped on. We just did a lot of walking around, letting him take all the new sights in from that side of the farm. He did great! Nothing out of him besides ears perked forward the whole time. He did just what I asked him to do and we even got a few strides in on the trot. God he is so smooth to ride!
Started on a good note and ended on a good note, so over all I was extremely happy how he did to day, for not being ridden since the last time I rode him way back in August, and the time before that was back in July.
I love how going to the barn instantly erases any and all things that are stressing me out. It is so great just to be able to forget about it all and just to completely enjoy yourself!
OH and on the way back home I stopped at WaWa to get something to drink and an apple to eat. THEY HAVE EGGNOG IN STOCK! Winter has officially begun for me today! OH HAPPY DAY!
