An update. A long and over due update since I am horrible at this kind of thing now. Years ago I lived to blog, now I'm trying to get back into it. Can't sleep, figured I would do something to pass my time when I should be asleep.
Eric and I flew out to Las Vegas and stayed in NV for 4 days. We looked at a few houses, really liked three of them, a few were just "meh" and one just needed to be torn down and rebuilt because it's foundation was completely cracked, sunken in and separated through out the entire thing. "Minor cosmetic repairs" my ass! Oh and $60,000 for it? HAHAHAHAHA I think not, no wonder it has been on the market for OVER 2000 days. Yes I did say 2000 days.
We got to eat at a few really nice places out there and oh man their Mexican food was GREAT! Nothing like we have here in Baltimore. We drove out to Death Valley CA one evening, we almost go to the National Park, but it was late and PITCH BLACK out, AND STILL 90+ degrees out. We turned around and had a lovely drive back into town.
A friend of mine, Maria, who I've known for years from the horse world lives on a mountain about 80miles from Vegas. She invited us up to her ranch. It was a fun and long drive but so worth it in the end. We passed by an air force / military base and saw a drone aircraft flying low which flipped Eric and I out. You don't see those things around here. She took me on one of the most wild and amazing rides of my life on horse back. I loved every second of it, even the seconds my legs were getting ripped apart due to the brush we were riding through. My fault for not wearing jeans! OH and by the way, Eric is terrified of horses so he stayed back at their house but did a bunch of exploring on foot. We rode back to their house, un tacked, had a few drinks, and Maria's boyfriend got right to grilling up some steaks, baked potatoes with cheese and goo, along with grilled veggies. It was amazing! So so delicious! We sat around being full and fat blimps for a bit then we called it a night around 9pm since we had to get up early to catch out flight back to Baltimore and we still had an 80mile trip back to town.
The flight back to Baltimore was HORRIBLE! We had a mother who had a bunch of out of control kids, one being a 2-4 years old who SCREAMED the ENTIRE 5 hours in air! IT'S A VAGINA! NOT A FUCKING CLOWN CAR! I think everyone wanted to just kill her and her kids, specially the baby. Thank god for Ipod's because I think I would have been the first to say "Off with that kids head!" We had to have our ipods on full blast, that is how bad that kid was screaming.
A few years ago, the last time I flew, I liked landing better then taking off. Well now I beg to differ! LANDING SUCKS and taking off is pretty amazing! Of course I only say that because on our way to Vegas, we stopped in Phoenix AZ nd that was an "okay" landing. Landing in Vegas was a bit bumpy due to it actually raining there. Amazing, I know right? The landing back into Baltimore had my stomach jumping up into my throat and made me give a few "OMG I'M GOING TO DIE" looks while killing Erics hand. We had to descend through Baltimore's yucky rain / thunderstorm. Though I will say, flying above the clouds, looking down at the storm and seeing lightening stretch out and across the clouds was pretty epic, other then those few minutes, the flight back just sucked!
We got back home where we were happily greeted by our 4 cats and 2 dogs. I think if it wasn't for them, I would have not come back. That is how much I loved it out there. I really wanted to come back home and book another trip back out there ASAP.
Oh come on you stupid house, SELL!
