I came across this woman's blog a few weeks ago and I must say she truly is inspiring! Her blog is: Daily Inspirations For You Today she blogged this and it sent chills up and down my spine while reading it. It hit that close to home for me. Everything she talked about is exactly what I am trying, planning, or doing right now in my life.
It’s a good time for change.
Posted on January 1, 2012 by Liberty

Time for a change.
Perhaps a change of your ways. A change of heart. A change of mind.
A change from bad habits to good ones. From disorder to order. From nonsense to good sense.
A change from bad manners to good ones. From disregard to care and concern. From self-destruction to self-love.
Perhaps it’s time to change your home, your job, your partner. Or perhaps it’s time to change the way you treat your home, your job, your partner.
Is it time to change your religion, your name, your life? Your perspective, your politics, your tactics?
If something doesn’t work for you, no matter what you do, then change it. If it’s right for you, then to hell with what anyone else thinks about it. You can’t please everyone else anyway; don’t waste your energy on trying. Out with the old, in with the new. Goodbye to stale and stagnant, hello to fresh and alive.
As long as you have a pulse, there is always the ability to change. To choose a new course, a new path, a new way. It’s the only chance you’ve got for true happiness. Go for it.

FZ7 Camera

YIPPIE! I found my good old camera along with my wide angle lens that I thought I had lost. Here's hoping this will kick start my old photography obsession. God only knows how long it's been since I have spent hours lost out in the middle of no where shooting my heart out through a camera lens. I truly miss it! Only need to get an adapter so I can again use my wide angle lens. Might not be the best or most expensive camera out there, but it means a lot to me since my father and Carole bought it for me for my birthday back in 2006. Also it's a very comfy camera to shoot with and I know the old thing very well. =) ♥!

The Sky; lite like a fire

It was a breath taking sunset this evening. Everything was glowing this beautiful neon pink color.

I hate the news!

A woman should have the right to choose whether or not she wants to bring a baby into this world. The doctors should be set free. The government should have NO say in the matter. This is wrong on so many different levels.

Two Maryland abortion doctors face murder charges

Elkton, Maryland (CNN) -- Two Maryland doctors face murder charges related to abortions performed on late-term fetuses that were viable, authorities said Friday.

Steven Brigham and Nicola Riley are in jails in New Jersey and Utah, respectively, awaiting extradition hearings to bring them back to Maryland, police in Elkton, Maryland, said in a news release.

The two face identical charges -- five counts each of first-degree murder, five of second-degree murder and one of conspiracy to commit first-degree murder.

The cases did not fall into the exceptions for aborted fetuses under Maryland law, Kerwin Miller, the deputy state's attorney for Cecil County, told CNN.

Defense attorney Tom Brown told CNN by e-mail that Brigham "has fully cooperated with this investigation" and has not "violated any Maryland laws." Another lawyer for Brigham, Norman Wilson, declined to comment.

Sharon Krevor-Weisbaum, an attorney at a Baltimore-based law firm that is representing Riley, said, "We believe that the criminal charges are without merit, (and) we believe it is inappropriate for (Riley) to be held without bond."

The investigation began August 13, 2010, when Riley brought a woman into an Elkton hospital due to a "complication resulting from a medical procedure," police said. The woman had driven from New Jersey to Maryland for an abortion, investigators later determined.

Days later, Elkton police searched the abortion clinic where Brigham and Riley work and found several fetuses "in a freezer chest." The fetuses were taken to a medical examiner's office in Baltimore, according to the news release.

The indictment warrant was issued Wednesday, following an investigation. Camden, New Jersey, police took Brigham into custody "without incident" later that night. The 55-year-old doctor has since been held at the Camden County jail.

Riley, 46, was also detained without incident Wednesday evening by the Unified Police Department in Utah. She is being held at the Salt Lake City jail, ahead of an anticipated extradition hearing, Elkton police said.

Miller, who is the chief homicide prosecutor for Cecil County, said more details on the case will not be released until Tuesday.

New Saddle...

Many thanks to Tony Pritchett from Sycamore Creek Saddles for his help, on helping me pick a saddle that will fit my mare, along with myself!

I can not wait till it gets here! =)

Good Grief!

I am going to recap my last few weeks of riding. I swear I am bad luck to my friend Jenn!

I am going to re post what she has written on facebook because the stories are just that much better!

12-15-11
Today's ride started off with me working Desi on the ground some. He was full of himself. Soon he calmed down and I brushed/saddled him. Time for the dreaded headstall. He was naughty but eventually got it on. It just LOTS of patients and letting him know you will keep going no matter long it takes so he may as well give up.

Then I had to desensitize him to the helmet. Good thing I did because he was NOT happy it was near him or above him. It was pretty quick. I mounted and of course he stood waiting fo rme to get my hip situated. Off we went.

NO crazy dogs today. Just a bunch on their own properties.
(The first ever ride I had on Legacy's back on 11-30-11, we were caught up by some wild dogs, who wanted to try and take the horses down but first they tried to take us off of the horses. One even managed to grab a hold of Jenn's ankle. Lots of stirrups and boot kicks to their faces, yelling at them, and making the horses "get them". I know now why people pack guns riding out here! It was pretty scary!)

And except for 5 spooks, we stayed at a walk on loose reins. The first spook I brought out my hand to adjust my sweatshirt, but he did not bolt, but leapt sideways and stopped. 2 Spooks were rabbits under the bushes that ran out as we got to them. But yet, 2 other rabbits ran out in between the spooks and after were no big deal to them. One more spook of my lifting my hand out and up to adjust the helmet. No big deal with any except, right when we came to my house, he had a super big meltdown. At the same time he heard his feet going quicker down the road, he wanted to bolt, but ran sideways towards a barbed wire fence. Right at the same time a damned white car came flying at us. Even seeing Desi was flipping out, they never slowed. I yelled at them and gave them my own flipping out sign. We had 2 choices, real quick into our yard or into barbed wire. I told Allison to quickly get in the yard or it was going to get bad real quick. We slipped in just as they drive by. There are 2 white cars who never slow down even if they see a horse freaking out. Once I would love a cop to pull them over and tell them about speeding down our road could get them more than a speeding ticket if we get seriously hurt.

The last part of the ride we did a lot of corto-ing. No issues with those transitions. No temper tantrums. He did stop everytime he felt me go a tiny bit off-balance which started to be a pain. But, after a second I would tell him to walk on. His brother would pretend he had to pee all the time to stop. And no he had no peeing issues. He just had learned he was allowed to stop and gawk when if he pretended. That is what Desi was starting to learn too, but we worked it out. He is still not happy with the bit. So soon as my spoon comes back, we will try that.

Much better ride than I thought it would be. Everything except the last few minutes with the meltdown. It was the same white car that did this when I was hand walking him over by the neighbors. Unsure what the trigger was. When we left and crossed the road, he had no issues with any sound of his feet. I am sure Allison thought he was a freak LOL

12-20-11

It would be an eventful ride today. 4 horses for Desi to deal with. Just a walk maybe a bit of slow gait now and then.

Ali had Legacy tied in her normal spot. I had Desi tied in his. I normally tie off his leadrope since he likes to untie himself and sneak off when I go to get the saddle. I went in to get grooming supplies when I heard a huge crash. Desi managed to get his halter down to Legacy's feeder and had it completely off her pipestall and hanging off the nose of his rope halter. All Kathy (my other riding friend and Ali could do it watch). He was pulling and rearing trying to get his heavy flying object off his face. You ALL know Desi's history and spookiness and ANYTHING near him let alone on him flailing about trying to attack him. My heart was caught in my throat as I went over yelling at him, "STAND!!!! DO NOT MOVE!!STAND DESI STAND!!" And then he stopped, this thing dragging his nose to the ground still stuck on him. He stood there waiting for me to untie him which was cake because of the way he was tied. Then he waited for me to untangle the hook fro the feeder from around his halter. I moved it to the side, looked him over, all good. He shook for a moment and then I put him back into his spot to groom and saddle him.

Still having issues getting headstall on, but not the bit. Once it was all done we were on our way. Kathy had ridden her NSH mare "Rocky" over. Desi had never seen her before and was trying to strut his stuff. His brother would do the same thing trying to look cool. Boys...

Once I got on and we started to head back, a huge trash truck with it's arms up went by and down the street. He had a small meltdown, but on we went. Crossed the street a small temper tantrum, small rear and baby bucks. Once we went in a bit he settled down. He was following like a champ. A few small spooks at ______ (no clue) but nothing horrible.

We went on and the gal with the Rocky we were trying to reach was actually there riding around LOL Ali and I stayed there while Kathy ran up to go talk to the gal. No issue from him being left by a horse running as long as Legacy was there. She was on a green horse too, and usually rides alone. Unsure if she was afraid we would be going full tilt. We explained I was on a freak and it was almost all just walking. She joined us and on we went, now 4 horses.

Everyone was doing super. Then her horse who was in front spied a big blue tarp that had blown up into the bushes. The bottom on the ground was full of water. Everyone got back under control when Desi spotted it. Oh great here it comes, another meltdown. But he was pulling on my hands hard.. to go get it LMAO! Seriously he walked up to it, stood on it, pawwed it and was fine. Yet the bush behind us touched his butt right there, and he spooked LOL

We went on a ways then circled back to her trailer where her husband and dog were waiting. Desi was not thrilled seeing something moving inside the truck. But he did good considering.

We headed back home and after about 20 min the gal on the Rocky turned to go back because he was acting up not being in the lead. Desi and I were behind him and he was being very good. Behind new horses do not (so far) seem to be an issue. He is staying (most of the time) back far enough without me to keep asking him to. A couple more spooks and we met up with one of my neighbors on her horse. She decided to go with Kathy while Ali and I went towards home. Both Legacy and Desi pitched a fit. Legacy stomped most of the way home LOL Desi kept crying out (something I have never seen him do) and we eventually made it home.

No white car to run us over. Though once we got in through the gate, he did have another mini-meltdown and was fine for me to get off in our normal spot.

What a ride....

Will he ever get rid of the spookiness, tantrums and meltdowns? We will see. But he did improve in some areas and did exceptionally well in others today. I know the fact he stopped moving in mid-terror to wait for me to get there, is that bond we have. The accident did not make him freaky for putting the halter on, tying etc. He did give it a LOOK when we got back and it was sitting on the ground across the way. Glad his feeder is white.. No matter what issues he sometimes has, I love that boy to pieces.

12-27-2011

I need a drink. One of those huge ones from on the strip. Today's excitement was lovely. Allison who bought Legacy came over to try out a new saddle. All was good. Desi was in the front yard playing and romping about with Spirit. Then I noticed one of the neighbors horses is running loose in their yard. I do not have their number and no way to get in their yard. I tried yelling, whistling etc. Then I hear a deeeep horse scream and the horse from next door is fighting with Desi over the fence. I start to go up and see what is going on when the other horse bolts and Desi jumps the fence to go after her. He did not clear it, got tangled in the wire and was stuck upside down. I am yelling at him to stay and not move while I try and figure a way to get next door. Desi waited as long as he could and then got himself free. Then he runs after the other horse which is a HUGE QH with buttcheeks the size of a Volkswagon. She tries kicking him and they go off. I scamper over the downed fence (4 tbars flattened with field fence) and go after Desi. I hear the neighbors voice and we both catch our horses. I check Desi out and not a scratch. Nothing. Thank goodness Allison was here to keep me sane and help out. Poor Allison, last week and now this week. Desi got some Bute because I know his muscles will be sore later. Again, I say, I NEED A DRINK! LOL

Christmas Present...

Never thought I would mover 2500 miles away, and only be in town 4 days before I found my new dream horse. Sunny was everything I ever wanted in a horse. Sadly I had to leave her back in Maryland. My goal was to come out here and look for another horse that suited me and was something like Sunny. Little did I know I would find a horse who was just about exactly like Sunny but just a different color. I swear this little mare is Sunny to a T. No joke. I used to call Sunny my little Spit Fire... Guess what this mares name is... Spit Fire. Creepy! Well I got her and hopefully she'll be in my yard within the next month. Only thing holding that back is, lack of fencing. Which is in the works.

Horse Slaughter

Horse Slaughter...

Seems like a bunch are up in arms about the new bill that was signed back in November that now has legalized house slaughter in the US... once again. Am I surprised at all by this? NOPE!

In fact, I am already sick and tired of hearing about it. My Facebook is swamped by people freaking out about it, no matter where I go that is horse related someone has to bring it up. I simply can not get away from it. I feel sorry for the big named pro-horse slaughter people. I have no idea how they deal with it, but good God am I sick and tired of hearing about it already!

Simply put, I do believe horse slaughter is a necessary evil. Go a head and shoot me for saying that. The bottom line is.... THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE TO "SAVE" ALL THESES UNWANTED HORSES. Point blank, NOT ENOUGH! I personally rather know a horse is killed and rendered then standing around in some pen in Joe Schmo's backyard starving to death because Joe no longer can afford to feed his horses and killing them by himself is illegal.

WHY HORSE SLAUGHTER IS NECESSARY
Please take a second and read some of the info in those links.

It sucks, it really does BUT what I do not get is why people are flipping out about horses being slaughtered when the same thing happens to cows, pigs, goats, bison, ducks, chickens and so on. Why aren't people up in arms about those animals?! They too can be "pets" just as much as a horse can be. I do not get it. People think horses are some majestic creatures or something. What makes them so special that it should be illegal to ship them out, kill them, butcher them, and sell their meat?

CHEMICALS you say? OH NO THE CHEMICALS!
Guess what!? Cows, pigs, chickens, and so on for our other tasty dinner special meats have had chemicals or other crap pumped in to them too at one point or another. Unless YOU have raised the animal you are eating on your plate YOU HAVE NO IDEA what is in your meat on your plate. Just because the label says "it's ok to eat" doesn't mean anything. You would be surprised if you knew.

Horse slaughter sucks. It does BUT till we people who have created this problem can think of something better, it seems the way to go at this point in time, once again. At least with slaughtered horses, we can eat them if we choose too, and their meats can be used to feed our other four legged friends. I personally see nothing wrong with it. Just my opinion tho.

Cat Escape

Eric and I just spent the last 4 hours looking everywhere for our cat Hedwig. She became unaccounted for after the home owner came and hooked our dryer and washer up at 12pm today. We ripped everything down and out, ripped what the home owner did for us apart, looked under the house, walked around the entire property, drove around the block, ripped the house apart a little more. Went back out side and ripped the paneling around the house out again, I left a flash light beaming in a little crack while I went back in for a screwdriver to take another panel down. I came back out, moved the flashlight and LO AND BEHOLD I SAW A LITTLE FACE LOOKING BACK AT ME AND IT MEOWED! I yelled for Eric to get over here because she was right there! Eric and I were just about in tears coaxing her back out to us. So pissed off yet so stupid happy right now. Words can't describe it! My favorite cat could not have gone missing, and not finding her was not an option for us. Just glad she is back in the house safe and sound.

<3 this cat!!!

Legacy of Fire

My new horsey friend Legacy - 9 y/o 13.3hh Paso Fino mare. Reminds me of Sunny to just about a T. No joke, can be a total moody mare on the ground but once on her, she is all business. Can gogogogo then stop and stand still forever. Will take you anywhere you want to go / point her. She can be feisty when you want to go yet safe enough to put a young kid on or a older person who's never been on a horse before, she will carry them around safely. ♥!

Love the view from my computer room

Wonder why...

The New Jersey Department of Agriculture has issues with Camelot Horse Auction? Why they don't renew their licences? Something smells fishy again. Not surprised since Frank Carper is a big pile of lying, scamming, dog shit. I hope they don't get reopened! Over a year it has taken The New Jersey Department of Agriculture to try to get the Carpers to comply with their laws/rules. When is enough, enough? Just say no once and for all. I am so sick and tired of reading this BS about Camelot, I am ever more tired of reading and hearing people freak out about it. "OMG we have to save ALL the horses". No really you don't and guess what that is just not humanly possible so please just shut the fuck up! Have fun supporting a criminal, who lies, cheats, and scams money out of your pockets! Not someone I would ever want to associate myself with.

And the biggest laugh you want to see? Frank trying to threaten the NJ DA to renew his licences. LMFAO what a fucking joke that man is! Trying to say he will send them to slaughter. LMFAO HE CAN'T! WHY DOESN'T ANYONE ELSE KNOW THIS?! HE IS NOT LEGALLY ABLE TO DUE TO PAST CRIMINAL HISTORY! ALONG WITH HE HAS NO CONTRACT WITH ANY SLAUGHTER HOUSES OR SLAUGHTER BOUND TRUCKS/DRIVERS. AMAZING!

Over all I have had a few good laughs at all of this. Sucks for the horses but sadly can't save them all.

We're here!

WE MADE IT!

Arrived in Las Vegas on Friday around 1pm. The time change has me so mixed up. I will update later once we are settled in our new house, and not living in a hotel. But for now, LIFE IS AMAZING! I am so stupidly happy right now I can not even begin to tell or show it!

Oh and before I sign off... THIS IS MY BACKYARD!

Hello again

Topper made it safe and sound to Cold Creek! My friend is boarding him till I am able to have him at my place. She has him in her around pen till he settles down then he will be out with her two mules and horse.

So getting the text and photo of above made my day and calmed me down a lot, so I have been so worried about him over the last few days.

Saturday, November 12, 2011

Farewell my friend....

Here's hoping that Topper has a safe trip across the US! Loaded him up on the trailer this evening. See ya in Cold Creek, buddy!

Getting Closer

Electrician has been called. Will be here Thursday between 12pm and 3pm. Hope he is able to fix our few problems.

Eric and I need to scrape and re paint the bathroom ceiling along with the front porch steps. Silly lead paint fears due to it chipping from the home appraiser.

Toppers hauling trip has been completely paid for. He is set to ship out on Nov 12th. My friend Maria will be getting him at her place out in Cold Creek near Las Vegas. Total for him was $1224.00. Not bad as I was thinking it would be over $2k easily.

We're trying to get rid of stuff that we can not take with us or no longer want. Craigslist has become my best friend as of late.

Settlement is on the 22nd, I hope we can stay here till at least Thanksgiving due to Erics family throwing Thanksgiving, which is always amazing and I'm going to really miss it.

Ah the closer we get, the more depressed I become. As much as I've said I hate this house, it is becoming hard knowing that the house I grew up in from 2 years old to nearly 28 years old, I'm finally leaving, giving up, selling, and will never be able to set foot in it again. It is sad and hurts but I have got to get out of Baltimore city along with making my dreams come true.

Next up hard core packing and getting a uHaul. OH BOY!
